The July 2010 will be cherished by all at NIIT Chandigarh as celebration day of Honouring Success of a number of alumni of NIIT Chandigarh. The ambience spoke of the excitement around the big event about to come. The venue was the reputed CII convention Hall Sector 31 Chandigarh.
When it come to honouring the success it has to be by the best in profession, it was a privilege to have Mr. VivekAtray Senior Advisor, Advisory Services, KPMG also Past Director IT for UT administration, Past Director Tourism for UT administration. With a brilliant academic record is a B. Tech in Electronics and Communications from REC,Kurukshetra. Has held various important profiles in the administration.
It was time to know the organization, that helps build global talent for organizations worldwide.The first panel of the day was from NIIT with powerful and content rich presentations on Uniqueness about GNIIT, the Education delivery innovations and the strengths of Industry Collaboration by Mr. Kushal Dutta, and Mr. Bhrigu K. P. made the audience and the Industry Collaboration Cell clients glued to the presenters.
While NIIT panel on dais, Alumni Sukhmeet Singh and Varun Luthra Shared their experiences and learnings from NIIT and how it became a milestone in their life when they started their professional education at NIIT. Their talk indeed inspired the many aspiring IT professionals.
While the Chief guest and Industry Panel was on the dais, the event went into the stage-II, the chief guest and the others commemorated the event by “Lightning the Lamp” ceremony, followed by some beautiful and encouraging remarks by the Industry members like IOC, BHEL, IDS Infotech Ltd. & HDFC.
It was very reassuring for the students to hear HDFC welcoming them all to the banks backoffice employee bandwagon, BHEL assuring a continuing intake, IOC’s initiative of increasing the PP stipend rates to match up with the industry. The students were delighted to hear IDS Infotech Ltd. which maintains that at several platformsGNIIT’ians have proven themselves lot better than other graduates or professionals and are always welcome at their organization.
The chief guest then presented the alumni with their certificates and mementos, while wishing them success. The Alumni who shared their experience were also honoured and talked to by the Mr. Atray. The Chief Guest was pretty impressed talking to one of the young budding NIITian entrepreneur, Sukhmeet Singh.
This was a time to salute the profession of teaching as well, Principal from Govt College of Commerce sector 42 was presented a memento as a token of appreciation and thanks.
Then The chief guest mesmerized all with his engaging and enriching speech, appreciating the role of NIIT in bringing the skilled talents for the industry, also mentioned that while in their jobs people should be innovative and positive. Success would follow who would build on some versatility in their personality, in a lighter sense mentioned to the young men in attire that if they could learn a skill or two in cooking as well. Ended by wishing all the alumni and team at NIIT a best time ahead.
The defining moment was the time when Group Head Ms. Renu Saini, proceeded with an Oath taking ceremony to alumni, pledging their support to humanity, being genuine and keeping up the ethics of non piracy and non infringement of intellectual property. Post that the glitter in the eyes could be seen.
All the members were gifted mementoes and a vote of thanks was delivered by the Group Head to all. A preferential Exit was given to the alumni as they walked out for a group photo session to cherish the moments they lived just now !!
